CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY | LAFAYETTE

 

The proposed project is a new campus for the Cancer Support Community, located on an undeveloped parcel at the west end of Lafayette. Fitting the goals of the organization, a key goal is to preserve and enhance the natural beauty present at the site, provide sitting, gathering, and recreational places for visitors of all ages.

Highlights include:

  • Glass walls and soaring atrium create an inspiring visitor space

  • Butterfly roof creates a dynamic silhouette echos the surrounding topography, and provides a metaphor for healing and flight.

  • Landscaping preserves as many trees as possible, and features pervious paving, native plants, and boardwalks.

  • Site will include a natural-wood playground, outdoor classroom, greenhouse, and garden.
