Fresh Connection is a striking modern building that created attractive office space on a lot only 25 feet wide. Formerly an under-used parking lot, the property appeared to be of little value, but we saw the potential. Working with the city to obtain variances, we developed a sustainability-focused building that is now home to a local agricultural business of the same name. 

Highlights include:

• Industrial-style rainwater reservoir tank also functions as a signature visual accent

• Decks on east and west sides of building allow tenants to enjoy outdoors different times of day

• Rain-screen water harvesting system and drought-tolerant plants mean no potable water use for landscaping

• Extensive sun studies and deep overhangs guided window design to balance natural light and southern exposure.
